We are currently seeking a Senior Design Project Manager to join a client's Project Management Team as a full time employee. This is a senior-level position that requires a self-motivated individual with strong organizational, communication and leadership skills. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, possess exceptional problem-solving skills, can multi-task, work independently and as an effective and engaged team member in a fast-paced environment.
As the Senior Design Project Manager, you will represent us as the Engineer of Record/Prime Consultant and provide a very high level of technical leadership and direction to the project team to ensure successful completion of projects. The candidate will represent the firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, and other project team members. In this role, you will oversee the complete project team in the design of the building including in-house mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural lighting and technology systems as well as sub-consultant technical team members such as architects, structural and civil engineers.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the Project Design Team(s).
- Coordinate project designs, evaluations, and studies.
- Quality control review of designs prepared by others.
- Lead project team in design change management.
- Coordinate and assemble overall team proposals including estimating in-house engineering.
- Manage contract administration, scheduling, and costing.
- Establish project budgets and schedules.
- Track project timelines, expenditures, and project deliverables and report to client and management.
- Orchestrate and lead project kick off meetings, coordination meetings, and design review meetings for the project team.
- Manage tasks as required to ensure that work is completed on time and on budget.
- Communicate directly with clients and act as the primary point of contact for the company.
- Coordinate, support and communicate with colleagues across disciplines.
- Lead interactions with local municipalities and with contractor teams for permitting and construction activities.
- Monitor and manage the project contracted responsibilities to ensure services provided are in alignment with contracted services and prepare additional service requests if needed.
- Maintain client relationship through prompt response to needs and questions, initiating contact when information is needed, or delays are imminent.
- Staff oversight and mentoring.
- Capable of working in the field on a construction site.
- Arrange construction site walkthroughs and lead project team meetings.
- Ensure that the client's specified performance criteria are met.
- Capable of leading a team of Project Managers and Administrators across multiple large, fast-paced projects for a single client.
