Position Summary:
The Project Manager will oversee and manage multiple projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating materials, managing purchase orders, and ensuring projects meet client specifications and deadlines. The Project Manager will also handle customer relations, vendor management, and secure necessary approvals from government bodies and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and milestones.
- Monitor project progress, address any issues, and implement solutions as needed.
Materials and Purchase Orders:
- Oversee procurement and management of materials required for projects.
- Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
Customer and Vendor Relations :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and updates.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Approvals and Compliance:
- Obtain necessary approvals and permits from government agencies and clients.
- Ensure all project activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead project teams, including engineers, contractors, and field staff.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between team members and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular meetings to review project status and address any issues.
Travel:
- Travel to project sites as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
- Coordinate with site teams and ensure projects are progressing according to plan.
-Up to 20 nights of overnight travel per year, frequent day travel
-Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the tunneling or heavy construction industry.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
- Strong understanding of safety and industry standards
Certifications:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification preferred.
Additional Information:
- The position may require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
