The Opportunity
To support our continued growth, we are seeking to hire a Construction Project Manager. The ideal person will manage the full project lifecycle of residential renovations and build outs, while serving as an owner’s representative on larger wood-framed / podium-style construction projects.
The role is primarily based in our Newton, MA office, with a significant portion of time spent onsite at construction sites throughout the Boston area.
Day to Day Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Oversee and manage the pre-bidding process, including identifying and prequalifying potential contractors and vendors
- Manage all construction phases, including site preparation, excavation, foundation, framing, roofing, and interior finishing
- Develop and manage project budgets and timelines
- Preside over the full project lifecycle of residential renovations and build-outs
- Supervise subcontractors and vendors
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the project is aligned with goals and timelines
- Address any issues or challenges that arise during the construction process
- Communicate regularly with clients to keep them updated on the progress of their projects
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations
- Conduct final inspections and obtain certificates of occupancy
- Manage project closeout, including final payments to contractors and vendors
Your Experience Should Include:
- 8 years of experience in construction management.
- Proficient in project management software, construction estimating, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction safety practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Bonus points for experience:
- As an owner's representative on large wood-framed or podium-style construction projects is a strong plus.
- In obtaining required permits and approvals.
- With construction/contracting tracking software (ie. Bluebeam, Procore, etc) as well as Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation and benefits:
- Salary Range: $125K to $175K
- Profit sharing
- $500 monthly stipend towards health insurance
- 3 weeks PTO
