Our Opportunity:
Corenic is seeking a Project Accountant to support the Accounting and Operations team. In support of the accounting and finance activities, this role serves as the liaison between accounting and project management to assist in A/R, A/P and other accounting/project management functions of construction jobs.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This role reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate and work as a team with Project Managers (PM) regarding contract
- documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to Owner and vendor billing.
- Enter Bi-Weekly Payroll into ERP
- Work with PM teams on client billing to ensure that all costs are covered in the monthly Owner billings.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of project accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash receipts.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner.
- Assure internal control processes and compliance.
- Analyze job cost reports to see if there are any fee fluctuations not caused by timing. Work with PM team and Director of Accounting to take any corrective action required to correct fees, if applicable.
- Recommend and implement agreed process improvements.
- Monthly bank and vendor statement reconciliations.
- Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement.
- Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Director of Accounting.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-4 years construction project accounting experience.Construction job cost accounting experience.
- Strong organization skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience with AP/AR.
- Full life cycle project accounting experience.
- Ability to support up to three Project Managers at a time.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate level ability to utilize advanced accounting systems: Sage 100 (strongly preferred), GCPay, Procore, ProcorePay, MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Ability to maintain strong team relationship.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to develop/grow as company develops/grows
