We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Construction Project Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Irving, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial aspects of our construction projects, including cost accounting, progress billings, lien notices, bond claims, ledger, general ledger (GL), Procore, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). The Construction Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Prepare and analyze project cost reports, identifying any discrepancies or issues that need to be addressed.
3. Handle G702/703 progress billings, ensuring that all billings are accurate and submitted on time.
4. Deal with lien notices and bond claims, working closely with legal and other teams to resolve any issues.
5. Maintain ledger and general ledger (GL), ensuring that all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
6. Use Procore construction management software to manage project financials, including AP and AR.
7. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure that all financial aspects of projects are handled effectively.
8. Assist in the preparation of financial audits and reviews, providing all necessary information and documentation.
9. Continually monitor project budgets and forecasts, identifying any potential issues and working with project managers to address them.
10. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project accounting or a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, G702/703 progress billings, lien notices, bond claims, ledger, GL, Procore, AP, and AR.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address financial issues.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.
6. Proficiency in using Procore or similar construction management software.
7. Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
8. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure the accuracy of financial data and reports.
9. Knowledge of financial regulations and guidelines, as well as company policies and procedures.
10. Ability to work independently, taking initiative and responsibility for all aspects of project financial management.
