The Role
As a member of our Program Management team, the Senior Project Manager will oversee our clients’ Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) projects within the utilities sector, specifically focusing on water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants or water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems. Primary responsibilities are to manage and oversee the planning, engineering design and construction of CIP projects on behalf of the Owner; coordinating with Engineer-of-Record (EOR), Construction Contractor, Owner and stakeholders or with EOR, CMAR and Owner to resolve any impediments to timely and successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple CIP projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with industry standards.
- Manage both traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Delivery methods, guiding projects from conception through to construction, commissioning and warranty periods with the support of specialized members of the team.
- Serve as the primary liaison among the Engineer-of-Record (EOR), construction contractors, project owners, and various stakeholders.
- Proactively identify risks and help mitigate them to ensure successful project delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards throughout all project phases.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and documentation to senior management and stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior project management staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Work Environment:
This position may involve both office-based work and site visits to project locations, requiring occasional travel to oversee project progress and resolve on-site issues.

Qualifications
Required Skills, and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Licenses/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the utilities sector, with a strong background in water and wastewater projects; at least 4 years of experience managing budgets and controlling costs, and experience managing engineering design projects with construction value above $10 million.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Project Management Information Systems, BlueBeam or Adobe Pro PDF Review Software, MS Office Suite, Engineering Design best practice and industry regulations.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills; ability to foster relationships with diverse stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
