On behalf of a client in the engineering industry, we are seeking a highly skilled construction manager to play a crucial role in overseeing capital outlay projects. The construction manager will be responsible for managing projects from the initial request through the budget development, programming, design, construction, completion, and warranty phases. Reporting to the facility planning and control senior manager, this role will provide functional oversight for contracted designers, contractors, and other professional consultants involved in projects within state programs or overseeing entities under non-state programs. This is a full-time, on-site, permanent position located in Shreveport, Louisiana.

- Oversee and manage a portion of all capital outlay projects, ensuring seamless progression from project inception to completion and warranty phases
- Collaborate with facility planning and control project managers to supplement their work efforts providing functional oversight for contracted designers, contractors, and other professional consultants
- Lead the construction phase of engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets
- Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including development, planning, management, and implementation
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction meets design specifications and industry standards
- Ensure compliance with project requirements while coordinating project activities and ensuring alignment with overall project goals
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and consultants
- Manage all stages of the projects, including estimation, construction supervision, risk assessment, and stakeholder collaboration
- Monitor project budgets and schedules, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to keep projects on track
- Ensure adherence to organizational objectives and standards
Minimum qualifications and expectations include:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field; a high school diploma may be considered in lieu of a degree with ten years of construction management experience
- At least five years of experience in construction management
- Proven experience in managing construction projects through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams
- Proficient in project management software and tools
