Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Henderson, NV office. The position involves day-to-day interfacing with contractors, project team members, our clients and other technical experts to ensure each project is built according to plans and specifications. Managing projects will be related to telecommunications and will include everything from underground to above ground installations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of multiple telecom construction sites.
- Directs, tracks and supervises the work of employees, special inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Coordinates work with Project Management and coordinators to establish priorities.
- Maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, prime contractors, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Is involved in preparing cost estimates and assisting in the development and/or review of submittals.
- Can maintain a tracker with forecasts and actuals.
- Provides oversight of construction projects, ensuring adherence to contract and subcontract terms, performance, quality assurance, compliance requirements and engineering specifications.
- Assists with completing inspections and obtaining certifications.
- Tracks, reviews, and prepares change orders for project management to submit to client.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Possess a proven track record of ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining efficient operations and achieving a high level of client satisfaction.
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Make sound, timely decisions for the benefit of the Client and Company.
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to convey engineering decisions and concepts to non-technical and technically based audiences.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising field and office technicians on public works construction projects.
- Proven track record in client account management, relationship development and supervision of field and office staff.
- Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to solve complex construction conflicts.
- Ability to track, lead, train and mentor junior staff.
- Ability to communicate with clients and maintain successful client relations.
- Demonstrate ability to manage budget, tracking, schedule and construction quality assurance.
- Clear understanding and knowledge of Civil and/or Telecom type Construction, Jurisdiction requirements and customers specifications.
- Ability to write professional and effective emails and letters.
- Understanding of construction language, plans, materials and methods.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climbs stairs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and/or carries equipment which may be more than 50 pounds, occasionally operate construction equipment.
- Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
