About the Job
We are currently engaging qualified professionals, preferably located in North Dakota or South Dakota to join our site production team. This person will manage a team of carpenters who will perform a wide variety of construction on federal government projects in North Dakota and South Dakota.
This position will be responsible for hiring and training this team of carpenters and work closely with Razor project managers and superintendents to ensure compliance, safety, and on-time delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Hiring, training and managing a team of carpenters
· Attend pre-bid site visits and assist project managers with estimating
· Communicate tactfully and effectively with all stakeholders and team members
· Attend required meetings and trainings
· Responsibility to ensure highest level of safety and quality control
· Provide carpenter duties as necessary
· Proficient in commercial carpentry applications to include the following:
o General Framing (Steel stud/wood)
o Finish Carpentry – Millwork and Doors
o Cabinetry Installation
o Drywall Installation
o Painting
· Operate a variety of hand and power tools
· Clean and prepare construction sites
· Load and unload construction supplies
· Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications (preferred)
· 5+ years of industry experience, Federal construction project experience a plus
· 1-3 years of supervisor responsibility of direct and indirect labor
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
· Excellent communications skills (interpersonal, verbal, and written)
· OSHA 10 or 30 certification or willingness to complete training
· Demonstrated ability to manage business relationships across teams
· Ability to learn and adapt quickly to various situations
· Ability to think strategically and manage execution
· Meticulous attention to detail
· Computer literate and working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office
· Clean pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Location
All applicants must be willing and able to travel frequently to construction locations which are primarily located in areas throughout the upper Midwest (ND and SD).
Compensation
· Company vehicle or per diem for travel
