In this role, you are responsible for general layout and verification of bench marks, points established by outside surveyor. You will work with field team and or virtual construction team to ensure design/dimensions are accurate
through the review of both 2D and 3D information including but not limited to the building information model, contract documents, submittals, & shop drawings.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the establishment of control points & bench marks provided by outside surveyors.
- Establishes additional control points, grid lines for piping, equipment, structures, wall lines, columns, and anchor bolts as needed.
- Transfers bench marks as needed.
- Identifies, troubleshoots, & seeks resolutions for field issues.
- Interprets contract documents, design models, & construction models as necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Reviews and maintains documents as received pertaining to dimensions and changes due to architect, owner - such as field orders, change orders and request for information and makes recommendations as needed.
- Maintains accurate documentation of -control lines, offsets as-builts and revisions made in the field.
- Verifies and ensures that working documents are up-to-date.
- Analyzes drawings and/or field conditions and notifies superintendents of any discrepancies and makes recommendations as needed.
- Inspects and ensures equipment in good working order.
- Completes all lay-out necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Determines & implements mathematical functions as they pertain to layout and engineering.
- Performs fundamental layout technic’s using Tape Measures, Squares, Caulk Boxes, General math formulas
- Uses technical equipment such as Transits, Builders' Levels, Rotating Lasers, Robotic Total Station.
- Travel required.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma; Certification of Apprenticeship completion, or 4 years of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical skills and mathematical ability
- General knowledge of OSHA regulations and specific knowledge of The Haskell Company code of safe practices (Division 700).
- Related computer skills using Laptops, iPad, Microsoft Office, Trimble Field Link and other software as it pertains to layout and modeling

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
