About the Job
The AOC is responsible to Congress and the Supreme Court for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of 18.4 million square feet of buildings and more than 570 acres of land throughout Capitol Hill. Throughout Capitol Hill, AOC architects, engineers and technicians collaborate to design, enhance and maintain both new and historic structures, spaces and building systems, integrating historical sensitivity with modern engineering and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality assurance of the overall project, including evaluating workmanship, quality of work, and inspecting work per construction documents (drawings/specifications).
- Schedule, coordinate and perform specialized field inspections for designated discipline.
- Inspect work at job site for contract and code compliance.
- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Manage and coordinate construction activities to ensure timely completion and quality results.
- Recommend approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship as appropriate.
- Monitor GC’s labor and safety compliance with regulations, standards and contract requirements.
- Complete written inspections reports.
- Provide site photos and upload them daily into the construction photo management software.
- Coordinate with independent testing service contractors to inspect the Work performed by the GC and arrange site visits between the testing agencies and the GC.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- Associates degree in a Construction related field, trade school or an equivalent certification. (Waived for 10 years’ experience in similar inspection role.
- Experience with Construction Management software such as Prolog or E-Builder.
- Federal construction or Military construction experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check.
