We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Inspector to join our commissioning team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet all applicable codes, standards, and specifications, while also verifying that the work is completed according to project requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, reviewing documents, and working closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality construction work and compliance with commissioning processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet all applicable codes, standards, and specifications, while also verifying that the work is completed according to project requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, reviewing documents, and working closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality construction work and compliance with commissioning processes.
A Day in the Life of the Construction Inspector:
- Conduct Inspections: Perform site visits and inspections at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Verify Quality Control: Evaluate the quality of construction work, materials, and workmanship, ensuring they meet industry standards and project specifications.
- Review Documentation: Inspect construction documents, including plans, permits, and specifications, to confirm compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Monitor Safety: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that safety measures are adhered to on-site throughout the construction process.
- Coordinate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with construction managers, project engineers, contractors, and clients to communicate findings, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project timelines.
- Track Progress: Maintain detailed records of inspections, observations, and any corrective actions required, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
- Prepare Reports: Document inspection findings, including defects, discrepancies, and compliance issues, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to project management.
- Assist in Commissioning Activities: Support the commissioning process by verifying that all systems and components are properly tested, inspected, and operate according to design specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to construction quality or commissioning processes, offering technical guidance to ensure project success.
- Maintain Standards: Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Construction Inspector (CCI) or equivalent are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably within commissioning or a similar industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and commissioning procedures.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction inspection tools, report writing, and project management software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate inspection findings and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify issues, track progress, and maintain accurate records.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions and on construction sites, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials.
- Experience with commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (MEP).
- Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification standards.
- Knowledge of advanced construction technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM).
