Job Description: As a Construction Inspector, you will be reporting to the Construction Project Manager. You will be performing construction inspection services during construction of the project. Such services shall consist of on-site inspections of the material, structures, equipment and workmanship used by the Construction Contractor such that each project is constructed in compliance with the Contract Documents and per good construction practices. Key Responsibilities:- Provide a daily written report of on-site observations concerning the progress and quality of the construction work. Report any observed deviations from the construction documents in a timely manner to the Construction Project Manager to minimize potential delays to the Construction Contractor's work schedule.
- Inspect and observe the Construction Contractor's activities to verify that the work complies with contract drawings and specifications. Check for compliance with approved submittals. Inspect and count materials on-hand and stored, whether on-site or off-site, intended for use on the project. Inspect and observe the Construction Contractor's work to verify that all authorized changes are properly incorporated in the project. Document these observations in the Daily Inspection Report and advise the Construction Project Manager of any deviations from the Contract requirements. Inform the Construction Project Manager of any failure of the Construction Contractor to take corrective measures to place such work in compliance.
- Verify that the Construction Contractor establishes and maintains procedures for safety of all work, personnel and equipment involved in the project in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Local safety codes. Immediately inform the Construction Contractor and the Construction Project Manager of any unsafe or hazardous situation.
- After receiving notice from the Construction Contractor that the testing laboratory is scheduled to perform on-site testing, the site inspector shall verify that the materials or activities being tested meet the minimum contract requirements.
- Construction Inspector shall have knowledge of the approved submittals, shop drawings and samples that have been reviewed by the Design Consultant(s) and verify that such documentation is followed during construction.
- Review the Construction Contractor's work and locations for possible adverse effects on the City's activities adjacent to the construction site and inform the Construction Project Manager of any conflicts.
- Attend progress meeting with the Construction Contractor, the City, the Design Consultant and the Construction Project Manager to review construction progress, construction problems, construction delays, staffing requirements status of materials and equipment deliveries, construction equipment and staging requirements, to anticipate potential delays and to review acceptable solutions.
- Take and keep photographic or video records during the construction phase to augment the written daily reports on work being performed or any other significant activities or deficiencies observed on the job site.
- Verify the quantities contained in the Construction Contractor's application for payment requests and transmit the results of your audit to the Construction Project Manager.
- At least twice per month, review the Construction Contractor's set of as-built record drawings to verify they accurately reflect the Construction Contractor's progress .to date and either show or reference any approved changes. Inform the Construction Project Manager immediately, if the Construction Contractor fails to properly maintain and update the required set as-built plans.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:- Ability to work effectively with a team
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
- Plan reading/ specs reading
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of relevant construction management experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Proven ability to follow through with completion
Skills & Competencies:- Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, outlook, etc.)
- OSHA 10hr
