About the Job
About the Role:
The Foreman directs, supervises, and troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site. Duties include a variety of tasks, including ensuring that safety rules are followed on the site at all times and developing work schedules based on employee and contractor availability. General housekeeping and other manual labor type tasks are included as well.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily tasks according to schedule and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
- Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
- Train, manage, and mentor employees and contractors.
- Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.
- Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
- Develop and manage project budgets and quality standards for all sites.
- Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
- Regularly report project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other construction professionals.
- Read blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects, and building code recommendations.
- Ensure that inventory on tools and equipment is kept up to date.
- Work in adverse weather conditions without temperature or other environmental controls and subject to ambient weather conditions.
- Communicate in a professional manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain good attendance.

Qualifications & Abilities:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have strong general mechanical skills.
- Ability to perform very heavy work -- routinely lifts 25-75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 lbs. to greater than 100 lbs.
- Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motion also required.
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work overtime, if necessary.
- Must be able to learn, recall, and apply work procedures and rules relevant to job functions.
- Must be able to anticipate, evaluate, and consider the consequences of various actions when required to make on-the-job decisions without benefit of supervision.
- Must be able to identify and use common shop tools, instruments, and machines.
- Must be able to work in a team environment that requires cooperation with others, offering help when needed, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Training on site personnel on and implementing safety measures in the field.
