Job Summary:
The Construction Field Superintendent will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities for our condominium project. This role will ensure that construction progresses according to plans, specifications, and schedule, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Supervision: Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, including subcontractor coordination, material deliveries, and workforce management.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain the project schedule, ensuring that construction milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets project specifications and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and take corrective actions as needed.
- Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, resolve conflicts, and maintain productive working relationships.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Budget Monitoring: Monitor project expenses and manage construction costs to ensure adherence to the budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project profitability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information). Prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Anticipate and proactively address construction-related issues and challenges that may arise during the course of the project. Develop effective solutions to ensure timely resolution and minimize project delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Construction Field Superintendent or similar role in residential or commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 30 certification and knowledge of safety regulations (preferred).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
