If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, onsite position where you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction and construction phases of our projects. You will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates that will help us in making informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Estimator, you will be expected to:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing the project’s plans and specifications.
2. Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
3. Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
4. Work with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
5. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
6. Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
7. Review design documents for potential cost issues and provide cost-saving strategies.
8. Present cost estimates to clients, project managers, and engineers.
9. Stay updated with the latest construction industry trends and advancements.
10. Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
3. Proficiency in computer software for job costing, scheduling, and estimating.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Ability to read and understand construction blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
8. Exceptional attention to detail.
9. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate multiple tasks.
10. Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.
