As a Conceptual Construction Estimator, you will:
- Develop accurate cost estimates for complex construction projects in the early stages of design
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure estimate accuracy
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and potential challenges
- Prepare and present cost estimates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contract negotiations
- Maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in conceptual or pre-construction phases
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Timberline, WinEst, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
