Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent position in our fast-paced and growing construction company. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a solid understanding of the construction industry. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for forecasting the cost of our construction projects, participating in project bidding, and managing construction processes. This position plays a pivotal role in our operations, ensuring that we can deliver high-quality, cost-effective construction solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other related costs.
2. Participate in project bidding, preparing comprehensive bid packages, and conducting negotiations with suppliers and
subcontractors.
3. Review and analyze blueprints, schematics, and other project documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project scope.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to develop project plans and timelines.
5. Monitor and track project costs, identifying any potential issues that may impact the budget.
6. Conduct regular risk assessments to anticipate and mitigate potential cost overruns.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and construction materials.
8. Present detailed reports and cost estimates to stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and senior leadership.
9. Negotiate and finalize contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 1 year of experience in construction estimation or a related role within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with project bidding and construction processes.
3. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex project plans and specifications.
4. Excellent numerical skills and an understanding of financial processes.
5. Proficiency in using estimation software and other relevant computer applications.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong attention to detail and the ability to make accurate, efficient cost forecasts.
9. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
10. Professional certification in construction estimation or project management is a plus.
