Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

Compiling all necessary documentation, such as property layouts, technical plans, and project specifications.

Reviewing project documentation, consulting with clients, and inspecting construction sites to fully comprehend the required tasks.

Determining the most efficient use of manpower and materials for each project.

Sourcing and evaluating multiple quotes for resources and selecting the most suitable options.

Negotiating with suppliers and contractors to secure better rates.

Developing a project timeline to estimate the duration required for each development.

Performing risk analyses to anticipate potential changes or challenges to the project.

Incorporating resource usage and profit margins to determine overall project costs.

Creating detailed proposals that outline required materials, budgets, and timelines.

Meeting with clients to discuss and address their concerns regarding project estimates.

Construction Estimator Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience as an estimator for commercial new construction and renovation projects.

A background in project management is a strong advantage.

Proven expertise in construction cost estimation.

Ability to accurately predict expenses for complex, high-value construction projects.

Familiarity with technical and administrative project documents.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Excellent research abilities and proposal writing expertise.

Strong negotiation skills when dealing with experienced sales teams.

Dependable, detail-oriented, and articulate in professional communications.

Qualification in project management is highly advantageous.

Demonstrable experience as a construction estimator.

Ability to forecast the cost of high-ticket, involved building developments.

Knowledge of relevant technical and nontechnical documents.

Exceptional quantitative skills.

Ability to negotiate with seasoned Sales personnel.
