We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This position will play a vital role in our construction projects, providing accurate cost estimates and budget forecasts that will guide our decision-making process. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of our projects, identifying potential risks, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects or services.
2. Perform complete quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate, and studies for all items incorporated in the project.
3. Use software applications such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and P6 to optimize estimating processes.
4. Conduct risk analysis and provide strategies to mitigate potential risks.
5. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
6. Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
7. Manage bid pricing from all vendors and select the most relevant ones for each project.
8. Prepare and present cost reports, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
9. Develop and maintain cost databases and cost report systems to improve the speed and accuracy of the estimating process.
10. Assist in the preparation of larger and more complex assignments including the estimate plan, schedule, and order of magnitude.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating.
3. Proficiency in the use of construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and P6.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Excellent analytical and forecasting skills.
6. Ability to read and comprehend technical construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
7. Strong mathematical and IT ability with an understanding of the need for accuracy in compiling estimates.
8. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Detail-oriented and organized with a strong commitment to quality and excellence.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
