Are you an experienced construction estimator with a knack for numbers and a keen eye for detail? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy the challenge of contributing to large-scale projects? If you answered yes, this might be the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking a seasoned Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. As a Construction Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in our project planning and execution process, and your expertise will directly influence our project outcomes and overall business success.
Responsibilities:
As a Construction Estimator, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs.
2. Reviewing project plans and specifications to determine the total scope of work to be estimated.
3. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
4. Evaluating and comparing supplier and subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing.
5. Managing and maintaining a comprehensive cost database to facilitate accurate and timely estimates.
6. Conducting risk assessments to identify potential project challenges and develop contingency plans.
7. Providing ongoing cost tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Assisting in the negotiation of contracts and bids.
9. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in construction estimating.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Construction Estimator position will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a construction management role.
2. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
3. Proficiency in estimating software and other industry-specific technologies.
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. A thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
9. Certification from recognized bodies like the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) or equivalent is a plus.
