Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Evaluate project plans and specifications to determine the total cost of construction.
- Use estimating software to calculate costs and prepare detailed cost plans.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop cost-effective strategies.
- Analyze and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and submit budget proposals and cost reports to clients and management.
- Monitor project costs and identify any potential risks or cost overruns.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide cost-related input and advice.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Estimator or in a similar role.
- Proficient in using estimating software and other relevant computer applications.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Experience in commercial construction, multi-family, mixed-use, and hospitality projects.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
