Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze project documents, including property plans, technical drawings, and specifications
- Visit construction sites to gather comprehensive insights about projects
- Determine appropriate human and material resources for each project
- Obtain and evaluate multiple quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Perform risk assessments to account for potential deviations from project plans
- Draft detailed proposals outlining materials, costs, and time frames
- Collaborate with project managers to align costs and supervise bid processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field
- Proven experience in construction estimation or related fields
- Proficiency in accounting and project management
- Strong understanding of technical and non-technical construction documents
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and computer programs, such as Timberline and HCSS HeavyBid
- Ability to negotiate with experienced sales personnel
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification is a plus
