Job Summary:
Supermicro is seeking a strategic and visionary Construction Director with exceptional executive communication and management capabilities to oversee and drive the success of Supermicro construction projects. The ideal candidate will excel in leading teams, optimizing operational performance, and articulating the vision and strategy of the organization to stakeholders at all levels. The Construction Director will collaborate with internal stakeholders and specialty consultants to update and provide feedback based on design requirements. This position supports project delivery by aligning team objectives, business processes, general contractor (GC) and vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts with Supermicro office development strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals and drive growth.
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership, team members, and external stakeholders, clearly articulating objectives, expectations, and performance metrics.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve operational outcomes and address challenges.
- Oversee general contractors and vendors, ensuring integration with internal partners for timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
- Implement globally applicable solutions for datacenter projects.
- Facilitate decision-making for solutions, schedules, and change management.
- Use influence and negotiation skills to recommend solutions.
- Serve as the single point of contact for project development and delivery.
- Establish and maintain a safe and effective site culture.
- Develop, manage, and report on safety, scope, schedule, and budget.
- Hold direct fiscal responsibility for the project budget.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in data center construction or related construction management of large-scale projects in the technology industry.
- Deep knowledge of land acquisition, zoning, environmental regulations, and infrastructure requirements.
- Exceptional executive leadership and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence teams, driving performance and achieving organizational goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in using data to inform decisions and improve processes.
- Master's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural).
- Certified as a Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.
- Must be able to travel as needed.
Salary Range
$162,000- $176,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
