Insurance Defense Paralegal
Staffing Solutions is assisting a great law firm in their search for a litigation/insurance defense law firm headquartered and staffed in Portland, Oregon that handles state and federal cases in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. They are looking for a skilled litigation paralegal that is a right fit for our current dynamic team of attorneys and paralegals, who will thrive working in a relaxed, informal office while engaging in challenging and varied work within a fast-paced setting. The firm handles cases as a team and value input from everyone in the firm. The staff here believe in fostering a friendly, comfortable working relationship so they can all focus on providing the best possible service to the clients as they grow thier practice in other areas of law and jurisdiction. EssentialResponsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process to include:
- Manage case discovery and
- Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case
- Draft legal documents to include discovery requests and responses, motions, affidavits, subpoenas and correspondence under attorney supervision.
- Perform background investigations, as well as locate and interview
- Review case documents and prepare summary of key facts and
- Prepare medical chronologies and bill
- Retain and interact with various experts including identifying relevant documents for expert
- Assist with all aspects of mediation, arbitration and trial
- Assist with other special projects and related duties as
- Construction defect experience preferred but not required.
Paralegals are required to consistently deliver high quality work products, adeptly manage cases with the assistance of attorneys, follow up and follow through with tasks, take ownership of responsibilities and be accountable to the team. All team members must also maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
