Construction Cost Engineer/Scheduler - Port Construction Services - Port of Seattle

**Some of what you'll be doing:** As a Construction Cost Engineer/Scheduler, you will support the department's timely and on-budget delivery of construction projects through project control services. + You will lead the development of project schedules to include the planning and scheduling of activities pertinent to the design and construction of projects. + You will coordinate with construction managers and update master schedule as needed to reflect changes. + You will perform project scheduling activities, and identify linkages, conflicts, interfaces, and relationships within and among projects. + You will support cost estimator in the monthly project reporting of budgets, forecasts, and schedule progress. + You will support the development of quarterly capital project cashflows and quarterly reports to finance and budget groups. + You will assist construction project managers with priority determination and document changes to schedule due to shifting priorities. + You will assist management with analyses needed to support the strategic planning process, as directed. **Who you are:** + **Experienced** - You have four (4) years of experience providing construction project cost management/tracking and/or scheduling. + **Desired** - We hope you have an Associate of Arts degree in Engineering or Construction Management. You also have knowledge of Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis. + **Expertise** - You have knowledge of construction operations or related field. You have knowledge of project management, budgeting and forecasting processes, procedures and principles. **What else you need to know:** + **Work Schedule** - Your normal work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies. + **Work Environment** - You will primarily work in an office environment. There may be a possibility to work in a hybrid setting after the probationary period ends. + **Washington State Residency Requirement** - Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State. + **Security Requirements** - As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
