Prominent construction client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Controller to join their dynamic accounting team. As a Construction Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position is open due to a promotion.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of financial operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, collections, and payroll.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to support decision-making and provide insights to senior management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with various departments to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including analyzing WIP (work-in-progress) and ensuring proper control over project costs.
- Ad hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, leveraging your financial expertise to drive business growth and success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using financial software and ERP systems. Experience with construction-specific software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: $150,000 - $160,000 Annual
