About the Job
Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Business Development Manager for our client. The Construction Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new construction project opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, developing and presenting proposals, and ultimately driving revenue growth for a construction company by actively seeking out new business within the market, utilizing strong industry knowledge and networking abilities to secure contracts.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Market research and analysis: Conducting thorough market research to identify potential clients, project opportunities, and emerging trends within the construction industry.
- Lead generation: Actively prospecting for new clients through networking, attending industry events, cold calling, and utilizing online platforms.
- Client relationship building: Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers to potential clients, understanding their needs and project requirements.
- Proposal development: Preparing detailed and compelling proposals, including cost estimates, project timelines, and technical specifications, to present to potential clients.
- Sales pipeline management: Tracking and managing the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up on leads and opportunities.
- Collaboration with internal teams: Working closely with estimators, project managers, and other internal teams to develop accurate proposals and execute project plans.
- Industry awareness: Staying updated on industry regulations, new technologies, and market trends to identify potential opportunities.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Construction industry knowledge: Deep understanding of construction processes, project phases, and relevant building codes
- Sales and negotiation skills: Proven ability to effectively present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals
- Networking capabilities: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key industry players
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to clients
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and assess project feasibility
- CRM proficiency: Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage leads and sales pipeline
- Project management skills: Understanding of project planning and execution principles
