Position Overview:
A reputable Law Firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Litigation Attorney to join their team. This firm works with numerous Fortune 500 companies, and consistently services some of the largest projects within the state of Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of construction-related disputes, including contract disputes, construction defects, mechanic's liens, delay claims, and other matters arising from construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of construction litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and support arguments.
- Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on construction-related issues, contracts, and disputes.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to effectively manage cases and meet client needs.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case developments and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing construction litigation.
- Strong litigation skills, including experience with all stages of the litigation process.
- Deep understanding of construction law, including contracts, liens, bonds, and regulations.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing clients in complex construction litigation matters.
- Trial experience, including first-chair trial experience.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and practices in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction-related documents and software, such as construction contracts, blueprints, and project management software.
