We are looking for an Area Manager (Heavy Highway – Roadway/Bridge projects) for the Mid-Atlantic region which comprises Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, North Carolina, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
As an Area Manager for their Heavy Highway – Roadway/Bridge projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, you will:
- Provide overall management direction for a regional “mega-project” or multiple large and small regional Heavy Highway projects – i.e. plans, directs, and coordinates activities.
- Ensures that all projects and goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
- Manages Project Engineers/Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen who supervise construction employees; charged with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review the project proposals or plans to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources for various phases of the projects.
- Oversee the work plans and staffing for each phase of the projects to ensure coverage and identify/solve any potential gaps.
- Oversee project staff’s work plans, and assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
- Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
- Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
- Coordinate project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors.
- Understand, analyze, and execute CPM-based project schedules.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 15+ years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
