Summary: The Construction Administrator works as part of a program management team managing a project for the Veterans Affairs to meet the infrastructure upgrades across Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and includes work at associated Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOCs). The project support is related to projects performed at the main hospital and associated CBOCs and will include any Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM), Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM), Minor and Major project support. 100% on-site at the Atlanta VAMC with occasional travel within city of Atlanta.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Administration

• Responsible for the construction analysis, development, design of and the preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.
• Provides administration oversight and evaluation concerning all construction disciplines as they pertain to all project work.
• Independently responsible and accountable for administration necessary in the development and completion of design projects, and review of the final contract documents.
• Determines documentation needed based on results of an engineer risk assessment that could have a severe impact on patient care.
• Possess a working knowledge of construction practices and call upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change and Information Management.
• Support in set up projects in Client and/or Company project management systems, including all required project documentation.
• Maintains project documentation throughout duration of project
• Assists in verifying and managing payment to contractors and vendors during construction
• Responsible for acquiring, coordinating, and submitting owner required close-out documents for project closeout and final contractor/supplier payments
• Assembles and distributes reports for internal and external customers.
• Maintains confidentiality with sensitive or proprietary information on behalf of project team.

Qualifications:

• Have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
• Able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.
• Must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
