Construction Accounting & Payroll Specialist at ABR Employment Services

A fantastic partner of ours in Hillsboro, WI is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join their team. Construction accounting is a specialized branch of accounting that deals with the financial management of construction projects.

This position is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking of construction projects. This position is also responsible for accurate and compliant payroll processing.
 
Schedule & Salary

• M-F, 7:30a-4:30p
• Located in our Hillsboro, WI office
• $60-$80k starting salary based on experience

• Project budgeting and forecasting
• Job costing and work-in-progress
• Contracts and bonding
• Subcontractor compliance
• Sales and use tax
• Bank reconciliation

• Employee data management
• Timekeeping and attendance
• Wage calculation
• Processing and distribution
• Compliance reporting
• Payroll reconciliation
• Record keeping

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; or 5 years minimum of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience with job costing and project management software.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of labor laws and payroll tax compliance.

• Experience with standard, certified, and prevailing wage payroll.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Repeat the same movements.
• The ability to lift and move up to 15 pounds at times.
