Barber Drywall is a large family owned commercial and residential Drywall/Framing company. We are looking to hire an experienced construction accountant/bookkeeper to join our growing company who is an analytical and detail-oriented individual with a high level of financial accuracy. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the accounts of various construction projects, creating detailed budgets, overseeing contracts & evaluating production costs. Their goal is to ensure that all estimated construction costs are tracked and managed.
Must be a strong and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills:
Duties:
- Summarizes current financial status by analyzing general ledger accounts, compiling and submitting financial statements.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports monthly.
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable staff and functions.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred but not required
- CPA is a plus.
- AIA Billing
- Experience in job cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Previous bookkeeping experience preferred.
- 3 to 5 years in Construction Management or General Contracting or Subcontractor industry experience
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks Contractor and/or Sage
- Responsible for the accounting operations of the company
- Preparation of all monthly financial reports
- Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management.
