We have an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Configuration Management Specialist level III at our Poway, CA facilities. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the configuration management function which serves as the key interface for project engineering design and technical documentation as well as technical reporting for DOE and/or DoD contracts. Oversees the records management function which is responsible for preserving various organizational business and technical records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Performs and oversees configuration management activities related to identification, control and accounting for engineering documents for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements.
+ Leads the creation and updating of Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) and Declaration of Configuration (DOCs).
+ Leads the creation of Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) Plans and performs PCAs with the Customer.
+ Leads Change Control Board (CCB) and Joint Configuration Control Board (JCCB) Meetings
+ Establishes and maintains procedures to implement and process engineering documents for all assigned projects to ensure compliance with policies and scheduling requirements.
+ Reviews and analyzes engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality assurance and manufacturing to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Company policy.
+ Ensures that customer requirements are implemented, and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.
+ Establishes and maintains procedures for storage, retention and destruction of company records, processing, filming, storing and retrieving current and historical design, technical and programmatic documents according to project, customer and company practices and requirements.
+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive government or commercial configuration management experience. Equivalent professional government or commercial configuration management experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
+ Must have knowledge and experience working with CM Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to establish configuration control of affected CIs, including approved changes, status accounting, and historical records, and control of approved changes to drawings and parts.
+ Must have knowledge and experience to actively assist or provide direction to subordinates and exercise independent judgement.
+ Must possess excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with all levels of customers and company employees, including upper management.
+ Must be able to work extended hours when required.
