Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the United States Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in achieving its mission. We're looking for a talented Project Engineer to contribute to our efforts in ensuring the success of the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Program. This role will be based at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical writing support for the Configuration Management, Data Management, and Data Architecture (CM/DM/DA) team, including drafting plans, processes, reports, and other documentation.
Develop operating instructions and training materials for the CM/DM/DA team.
Manage the acquisition and distribution of technical and programmatic Contract Data Items (CDI) from launch service providers to government evaluators.
Maintain CM/DM/DA status databases and deliver reports to management and designated Contracting Officers.
Operate and manage the NSSL Program support library and data repository.
Improve CM/DM/DA engineering processes and procedures through innovative thinking and implementation.
Foster effective communication and professional relationships with internal team members and our primary customer.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or a STEM discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering Technical document development, Data Management, Configuration Management, or related fields.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and willingness to learn additional software tools.
Process-oriented team player with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with the United States Air Force (USAF), United States Space Force (USSF), or NSSL Program.
Familiarity with USAF/USSF requirements for technical writing, Configuration Management, Data Management, or related fields.
Experience in launch vehicle systems.
Strong presentation, communication, and team-building skills.
Critical thinking abilities and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
Occasional movement within the office environment.
Regular operation of office equipment.
Compensation and Benefits:
The projected compensation range for this position is $110,800-$185,500, dependent on various factors including relevant experience and location.
