The Conference Sales Manager serves as a lead point of contact for conference and meeting-based business at Jay Peak Resort. Working closely with internal and external stakeholder groups to the facility. To coordinate all aspects of Conference Sales business at Jay Peak Resort, on a year-round basis. Responsible for directing the communication process between Conference Sales and other internal stakeholders. Position also requires management of CRM and understanding of on-campus event room and lodging inventory. Will require a coordinated effort to balance the needs of conference business segment with all types of business offered, and the types of facilities offered at the resort. To serve as a liaison between Conference & Meeting clients and the Resort. Act as an initial point of contact for clients, for all lodging, F&B, special events and extra needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Solicits new business through prospecting, cold calls, telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, third party organizations (CVB, Chambers of Commerce, lead firms, etc.), trade shows and sales missions
- Establishes client base of organizations, associations, social groups, and corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales.
- Conducts follow up on sales leads (internal, external).
- Develop and nurture relationships with key clients/partners in order to produce corporate meeting and conference/convention business.
- Write proposals and contracts on a regular basis.
- Participate in the banquet menu creation with the Food and Beverage team.
- Maintain and grow an account management system of potential clients with plans for outreach to this database.
- Effectively uses contact management and catering software to monitor, analyze and communicate sales data.
- Ability to adapt to regional and national competition and trends in the industry.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Well- developed interpersonal skills & Sales/negotiating abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Planning and organizational abilities.
- Minimum of 2 years of Catering and Sales management.
- Experience in high volume Conferences.
- Strong understanding of banquet services and organization.
- Good knowledge of food and beverage capabilities.
- Ability to travel off resort for day or overnight Sales missions.
- Ability to speak comfortably in front of large groups of people.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, during sales shows and meetings, as needed.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to a fast paced- environment.
- Ability to make decision within the parameters of the job description is a must.

- Annual salary range of $47k-$54k commensurate with experience and education
- Annual salary estimate does not include potential sales commission
