Minimum Education:
- High School graduate with some college; a computer science-related degree is preferred.
Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a technical support role is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ticket/case management software is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticket management software.
- Strong proficiency in MS Windows, MS Outlook, and MS Office, particularly in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- MS SharePoint knowledge is desirable.
- Ability to write non-technical correspondence.
Job Duties:
- Answer calls and e-mail messages at the Statewide Financial System (SFS) Help Desk.
- Document all issues and requests accurately during the initial call.
- Analyze user issues and questions, leveraging system knowledge and knowledge base resources for resolutions.
- Establish and maintain a working knowledge of the Statewide Financial System's navigation, procedures, and processing requirements.
- Provide support to users in system use, including navigation, access, and reports.
- Route issues and requests to the appropriate second line of support if required.
- Coordinate schedule with Help Desk supervisor to ensure coverage during established business hours.
- Learn to use Help Desk core tools and software, obtaining a base knowledge in the core products supported.
- Participate in training, workgroups, and agency meetings.
- Perform operational tasks, including password resets and user provisioning in various test and production environments.
- Provide 1st Level Support for Help Desk and Security Incidents.
Misc. Information:
- Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, totaling 40 hours weekly.
- Job location is close to CDTA Bus Line.
- Free parking facility is available at the work site location.
- Overtime availability is rare.
- New York State Holiday work may be required.
- Initial on-site work required for training, Remote work may be approved, with provided equipment. Candidate must have own internet connection and phone.
- Interview will be conducted In-person preferred or video conferencing based on the availability.
- Training is provided to the candidate.
