About the Job
The Candidate shall support the CLIENT Equipment Control Officer (ECO), and the Unit Accountable Property Officer (APO) in all responsibilities of the Property Custodian IAW DODI 5000.64, section 3.2, paragraph f and AFMAN 17-1203 The Candidate shall ensure the integrity and accuracy of the IT inventory by inputting and/or transferring computer equipment items in the Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) within two workdays of receipt. Once the Government identifies excess equipment, the Candidate shall begin processing it for disposal within 7 days of notification in writing. Other duties include: ensuring that all IT equipment under the PC’s account is properly signed and accounted for, transporting IT equipment items between local CLIENT worksites, storage locations, and Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services (DLADS) as required, ensure that stock levels are reported to management and Primary ECO on a weekly basis, and that CLIENT IT equipment storage locations are kept in an orderly manner. The candidate shall support ECs with their periodic inventories as well as IT equipment disposition and shall operate Government vehicles to transport IT equipment between work and storage locations as required. All new equipment received shall be entered into the Air Force inventory management system within 10 days from the delivery date. Any required reports will be determined at the TO level.
The Candidate shall provide a primary and alternate PC to support the ECO in managing HQ CLIENT and local Primary Subordinate Units AFCEC (including Tyndall), AFSVA, AFSFC, AFICA, 772 ESS, and 773 ESS accounts. These include but are not limited to accounts RE01, RU01, TRNS, CTN1, CTS1, DRVS, NETW, SERV, PRNT, PWCS, and 13 accounts at Tyndall, approximate line items for these accounts is 19,700 pieces. Accounts RE01, RU01, and TRSN shall be handled directly by Candidate as the Property Custodian.
The candidate shall adhere to all responsibilities stated in AFMAN 17-1203, para and DODI 5000.64, section 3.2, paragraph f.
The candidate shall initiate ROS’s immediately upon determination that an asset is missing, damaged or destroyed IAW AFMAN 17-1203.
The candidate shall coordinate all IT equipment requests, moves and changes with the HQ CLIENT ECO. The Candidate shall coordinate with the unit Accountable Property Officer (APO), primary ECO, MAJCOM ECO, and Air Force ECO.
The candidate shall complete an IT equipment inventory annually when a new PC is appointed, or at the direction of the ECO or other designated supervisor. The Candidate shall ensure all IT equipment inventories are completed in the designated time period.
The candidate shall complete the required PC training and APSR training. Training certificates shall be provided to the government POC.
Candidate shall manage, track, and label the following IT assets within their assigned accounts Sphere of Control (SOC), IAW AFMAN 17-1203, TOs, and applicable AF/MAJCOM/Local/DoD directives and policies: Laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, servers, tablets, smartphones, external hard drives, thin clients, routers, switches, and VoIP phones.
Minimum Experience/Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience in Air Force IT Asset Management.
- Two (2) years’ knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and smart phones.
- Candidate shall possess an active favorable NACI.
Estimated Workload
- Accountable for approximately 19,700 pieces of equipment estimated valued $17.7 million.
- Receives/accounts for approximately 500 additional pieces of equipment per year. Receiving equipment involves assessing condition, storing, adding equipment to APSR, and labeling.
- Maintains Storage Facility/transports equipment for use to CLIENT supported facilities 12 times per year at a minimum.
- Disposes of approximately 900 pieces of excess equipment per year. This includes the following: Prepping equipment for turn-in (includes prepping Form 1348), sanitizing equipment for turn-in, palletizing equipment, labeling equipment, and transporting equipment to DLADS location.
- Provides on-going/remedial training affecting approximately 60 Equipment Accounts.
- Develops/provides training for approximately 120 PCs quarterly.
- Processes PC Change Notifications, Inventory preparation, appointment letter revisions/creations, tickets, hand receipts, etc. approximately 700 per year.
