What You Will Do
As a member of the Physical Protection Team within the Protection Program Operations Group, the Computer and Information Security Technician will be responsible for supporting the Argus Security System at the Los Alamos National Laboratory Department of Energy site. The Argus Security System is developed and maintained at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The Argus system is a network based distributed computerized control system with significant security and reliability features. The successful candidate will, as a member of the Physical security team, perform operational and functional testing on the Argus Security System at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
This position will be filled at either the Technician 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.

Computer & Information Security Tech 2 ($49,600 - $76,300)
The successful candidate will:
- Perform operational, functional and performance testing, and layout of interior and exterior security systems and components.
- Documents testing results as assigned.
- Performs testing of the system to verify the systems sensitivity, proper operation, and coverage requirements.
- Performs all testing to verify proper detection requirements.
- Adheres to all safety and security regulations in the performance of all assigned duties.
- Reports any evidence of any possible tampering with equipment, the installation or use of unauthorized equipment, or any violation of security as prescribed by regulations, orders, and guides.
- Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his/her manager.
