About the Job
Candidate responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with glaucoma, a condition that damages the optic nerve and can lead to blindness if left untreated. The specialist will perform comprehensive eye exams, including measuring eye pressure, examining the optic nerve, and testing visual fields. They will also develop treatment plans, which may include medication, laser therapy, or surgery, and monitor patients' progress over time. The specialist will work closely with other eye care professionals, such as optometrists and ophthalmologists, to provide the best possible care for their patients.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an ophthalmology residency program
- Board certification in ophthalmology and/or glaucoma
- Valid medical license in the state of California
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
