Composites Shop Manager - RECARO Automotive North America, Inc.

Job Summary:

As the Composite Shop Manager, you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of our composite manufacturing operations. Your leadership, expertise, and strategic planning are essential to maintaining efficient production processes and ensuring that our composite components meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Oversight: Manage and lead the composite manufacturing team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring production schedules are met. Aid in the process of making components. Prior working level experience in composite Infusions, RTM and prepreg layup a requirement.
• Quality Control: Aid implementation and monitor quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards in composite component manufacturing.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
• Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production schedules, goals and budget constraints.
• Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of materials and supplies for production.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and best practices, creating a safe working environment for all team members.
• Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Team Development & Training: Foster team development through training, coaching, and performance evaluations to enhance skills and productivity.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members, other departments, and upper management to ensure a smooth flow of information and collaboration.
• Project Management: Coordinate the execution of projects, including the development of project plans and resource allocation to meet project goals.
• Budget Management: Monitor and manage the budget for the composite shop, ensuring that expenses are within budgetary limits.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or 5-10 year equivalent work experience in the composites industry preferably automotive or motorsport.
• Substantial experience in composite manufacturing or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and management. Working level experience in composite infusion, RTM and/or prepreg processes is an essential requirement.
• Strong understanding of composite quality control procedures. Prior experience in IATF & ISO9001 preferred.
• Proficiency in resource management and budget control.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations within a composites manufacturing environment. Inclusive of knowledge of chemical handling practices and protocols.
