Position Title: Composite Technician
Location: Fraser (Moving to Auburn Hills in 2024)
Shifts Needed: Day
Days | Monday- Friday 6a-4:45p + Saturday 6a-12p
Character of Position
As a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for understanding technical plans and blueprints, and you work using precision tools.
Responsibilities
- Lay-up fiberglass/carbon fiber/Kevlar and similar materials
- Ply cutting and orientation layup
- De-bulking and vacuum bagging of tooling and parts
- Potting and bonding of materials
- Mix resins and hardeners to manufacturers specifications
- Understand and work to all QMS procedures and work instructions
- Use and understand work order travelers and manufacturing plans
- Achieve quality and production goals
- Assist with training or startups (Travel may be required)
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines, and ITAR compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (sanders, angle grinders, straight grinders, paint guns)
Experience
- 1+ years' experience laying up and or working with one or all of the following materials: epoxy, fiberglass, carbon fiber, BMI, graphite, Kevlar.
- 1+ years' experience with vacuum bagging of tools or parts, running industrial size ovens, running autoclave
- General understanding of ply orientation
Education
- High School Diploma
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.
