Pay Rate: $25.36/hr

Job Description:
This position will be responsible for Sewing operations within the composite products manufacturing. This is a stand-alone position, Sewing Machine Operator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Will perform heavy duty sewing.
Will perform normal setups and operation of all equipment and maintain the machine in good working order.
Will identify part defects and make proper corrections.
Will cut and the develop pattern per the blueprint and production planning specifications.
Work with the M.E. to develop new processes for new products.
Record all trace ability information of material used and log on shop travelers.
Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Minimum one (1) year experience with commercial sewing machines (all types).
Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed to higher levels.

Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders and production planning documents.
Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and scales.
Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or - .001'.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
