Job Description:
This position will be responsible for Sewing operations within the composite products manufacturing. This is a stand-alone position, Sewing Machine Operator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will perform heavy duty sewing.
- Will perform normal setups and operation of all equipment and maintain the machine in good working order.
- Will identify part defects and make proper corrections.
- Will cut and the develop pattern per the blueprint and production planning specifications.
- Work with the M.E. to develop new processes for new products.
- Record all trace ability information of material used and log on shop travelers.
- Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
- Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.
- Minimum one (1) year experience with commercial sewing machines (all types).
- Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed to higher levels.

- Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders and production planning documents.
- Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and scales.
- Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or - .001'.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
