About the Job
The Compliance Support Specialist provides support to LIHTC communities in lease-up by ensuring they are in compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations. This is accomplished through reviewing lease documents and providing guidance to site staff when corrections are needed. The Support Specialist will review all files prior to these being submitted to Elmington Compliance.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of IRS rules and regulations that govern the Tax Credit Program
- Knowledge of specific state rules and regulations that govern the Tax Credit Program
- Ability to calculate income/assets using basic math
- Ability to use and/or learn to navigate computer software systems. (i.e. PMS, state systems), and basic knowledge of PDF creator, excel, and word

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Reviews resident files for completion and compliance with state requirements
- Reviews files electronically
- Meets specific deadlines set by state agencies
- Approves files once complete
- Enters tenant data into the state online systems
- Provides guidance on tenant file corrections to staff at the property sites
- Performs additional duties as assigned
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Administrative and organizational tasks
- Presenting a professional image
- Operating computers and other technological devices to access email, internet websites for business marketing and company utilized software
- Responding to issues outside of normal work schedule when required
- Accurately reporting all time worked by clocking in before beginning to work and out only when done working
- Following all company policies and procedures
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's Degree preferred, but not required
- 2-5 years of similar experience
- Experience in other programs is preferred but not required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently sit, stand and walk
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel to lease-up sites will be required.
