POSITION SUMMARY
This position requires ability to review and verify various certified payroll records of subcontractors, to determine compliance with the applicable rules and regulations of projects as assigned.
As a member of the accounting team, the Compliance Specialist works within a collaborative environment to execute assignments, meet deadlines and provide assistance in a professional manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and verify various certified payroll and related records of subcontractors, including fringe benefits statements, employer training contributions, and apprenticeship paperwork to determine compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Submit Overaa’s certified payroll and related documents, as required by contract, to Owners and the State.
- Prepare reports (apprenticeship, workforce, skilled and trained compliance) when necessary.
- Work closely with subcontractors to identify and remedy issues found.
- Work closely with compliance monitoring groups; prepare for audits, when necessary.
Interface:
- Report to Compliance Supervisor
- Work closely with Project Accountants, AP and Payroll teams
- Work with other accounting staff as needed
- Work with PM’s, Project Engineers and Project Assistants for the projects to which they are assigned
- Communicate with project Owners and subcontractors
Optimal Qualifications:
- Experience - Two years recent experience in a certified payroll compliance position in the construction industry.
- Understanding of Labor Compliance policies, procedures and practice.
- Understanding of California Labor Code and Federal Davis Bacon Laws pertaining to Public Works Projects.
- Experience with LCP Tracker, Elations & eCPR desirable
- Meticulous attention to detail

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, deadline-driven environment

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
The position requires work in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 25 lbs.
