Compliance & Regulatory Specialist

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To perform research and resolve compliance and regulatory affairs matters managed by the legal department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handles corporate compliance matter.
• Responds to state inquiries, complaints or grievances regarding compliance and regulatory issues.
• Prepares activity reports to advise senior management on needed actions.
• Coordinates vendor resources including vendor identification and management.
• Develops, coordinates and monitors compliance training programs and materials.
• Monitors federal, state and local statues and regulations.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the total performance management initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Paralegal or other compliance certification strongly preferred.

Experience:  
Four (4) years of compliance experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

Skills & Knowledge

• Working knowledge of regulatory and privacy compliance and standards
• Working knowledge of the insurance industry and claims administration.
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
• Analytical and interpretive skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
