Overview
:The Compliance Director is responsible for leading and managing the organization's compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices. This role ensures that all business activities adhere to applicable regulatory requirements, including industry-specific and location-specific laws. The Compliance Director will oversee internal controls and auditing systems, develop risk-based compliance testing, and implement changes to compliance processes in response to new or amended regulations. Additionally, this position will establish communication and training initiatives to inform stakeholders about compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
:- Primary subjects of focus:
- Customs related compliance including duties and tariffs.
- Business licensing and reporting.
- Accounting and financial internal controls.
- Compliance Program Management:
- Develop and maintain the company's compliance program to ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compliance controls and procedures, recommending enhancements as necessary.
- Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure that all organizational activities comply with industry-specific and location-specific regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations, evaluating and implementing necessary adjustments to compliance processes.
- Internal Controls and Auditing:
- Oversee internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes.
- Develop and execute risk-based compliance testing to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance issues.
- Training and Communication:
- Establish and lead communication and training initiatives to educate stakeholders about compliance requirements and promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on compliance-related matters.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with the CFO, Merchant Team, and CHRO to ensure cohesive compliance strategies across departments.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to top management, highlighting key compliance issues and remediation plans.
Qualifications
:- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a compliance role, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying compliance information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs and initiatives.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) are advantageous.
- Experience in the jewelry industry is a plus.

Work Environment
:The primary environment for this role is a combination of an open office and a remote workplace. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. This role is expected to be on-site in Home Office on average 1 to 2 days per week on an ongoing basis. Note that all hybrid and remote work conditions are covered in the Company’s current Remote Work Policy and Remote Work Agreement, incorporated here by reference. Travel may be required to stores, conferences or events up to 5% of the time.

:Base Pay range for this role is $160,000-$200,000 per year, which applies to this specific role. Your placement in the range is determined through interviews, a review of experience, knowledge, skills, balanced pay with other team members and alignment with geographic market data. Home office base pay ranges are based on the Denver market. We target most new hire offers toward the lower end of the listed range, but more demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills may result in a higher starting rate.
Beyond Base Pay: Home office positions are eligible for consideration for an annual bonus, based on total company performance. Amounts vary by role and are based on a percentage of eligible earnings for the fiscal year (starting at 2%).
