Job DescriptionThe Compliance Coordinator performs essential duties within the Compliance Department to ensure the Company’s strategic growth initiatives are achieved in a compliant manner under the guidance of the Vice President of Program Development and Regulatory Affairs. This includes completion of applicable regulatory documentation, internal audits, and advising on important regulatory implications for key business initiatives.
The main job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accreditation and state regulatory standards and requirements as assigned
Work with and project manage staff from multiple departments to compile regulatory documentation and prepare for regulatory assessments/visits from accrediting bodies, state agencies or other agencies as assigned
Perform internal audits of various internal policies or procedures as assigned
Work with departments (local, regional and corporate) as requested to assist in maintenance, updating, and training on policy, procedure, operational standards, compliance, and best practices.
Maintenance and auditing of internal and external documents as assigned
- Assignment of other tasks, as applicable and necessary
Pay range: $28/hr-$30/hr
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in compliance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the higher education field (preferably in a career school environment) or in another government-regulated industry/profession
- Proficient use of Windows computer systems and Office applications
- Prefer experience with large business / enterprise software systems
- Effective written and oral communication skills including the ability to lead meetings, summarize key action items, and provide online demonstration/training sessions on policies, processes or software use
- Ability to interpret complex and overlapping / conflicting regulations from a variety of agencies, and summarize them for diverse internal and external departments / staff / stakeholders.
- Strong self-initiative and organizational skills - takes ownership of tracking tasks, projects, goals, etc. and monitor the progress of yourself and others
- Strong critical thinking skills – use logic and reasoning to suggest creative solutions, interpretations, or approaches to problems
- Ability to make conscious and informed decisions whenever required
- Ability to self-manage tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain professional at all times
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent if requested
