Compliance Analyst - Ascent Funding

Job Description:
The Compliance Analyst will report to the VP, Compliance & Vendor Management and ensure compliance by the Company and its vendors with applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies and procedures. The role requires a working knowledge of consumer financial protection laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and test operational functions for adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Monitor and review verbal, written and electronic communications
- Monitor and review transactions in connection with consumer loan servicing and debt collection
- Analyze exceptions and make recommendations to enhance internal controls and/or improve efficiencies
- Effectively communicate testing results to management
- Assess compliance with consumer financial laws and regulations
- Contribute to special projects as assigned.
- Review existing and proposed legislation and regulations, regulatory announcements, and industry periodicals to assess applicability and impact to Company
- Create clear and accurate written reports summarizing testing findings
- Work closely with colleagues to provide continuous improvement strategies and measurements
- Review and draft regulatory complaint responses
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize work when demands change
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage projects
- Collaborative team player
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Post-secondary degree
- 2+ years of compliance experience in consumer lending, loan servicing, debt collection, or other consumer financial services
- Working knowledge of loan servicing and debt collection laws and regulations preferred
