RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Compensation Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the market pricing, design, development, and administration of their compensation programs. You will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
- Conducting comprehensive analysis of compensation programs, to evaluate market competitiveness, pay equity and compliance with regulatory requirements. Such activities will generally include benchmarking client jobs and synthesizing and assessing action items derived from your research and analysis.
- Participation in the design and implementation of compensation programs, including base pay management, broad-based incentive plans, sales compensation plans, and executive compensation plans.
- Development of pay administration guidelines and modeling tools for a client's annual compensation planning activities, using applications such as excel and PowerBI.
- The design and administration of short-term incentive plans including sales incentives.
- Modeling the financial impact of compensation system recommendations.
- The development of job architectures, reviewing and building out job families, writing job descriptions, and creating competency models.
- Evaluating client programs and documentation for compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory environments.
- Participation in client meetings (virtual/online) to review findings and recommendations, answer questions, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Staying current with the latest trends and best practices in compensation, providing insights that can positively impact our clients and our team.
- Collaboration with other team members to ensure project timelines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.
- The development of client-facing communication materials such as presentations, plan documents, and training content, tailored to a specified audience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or human resources management. Relevant experience may supplement or replace educational requirements.
- At least 4 years of progressively more complex experience as a compensation professional performing analysis and advising key stakeholders, such as management or human resources partners, on outcomes and action-oriented solutions.
- Critical attention to detail and exceptional accuracy, with the ability to review, interpret, and synthesize complex data and information.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently with large data sets and complex compensation structures.
- Advanced technical skills, using Excel, PowerBI, Access and other modeling applications. Highly competent in using typical skills such as v-lookups, pivot tables, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Customer service orientation and building strong relationships with clients and team members.
- Practical knowledge of government regulatory guidelines related to compensation, including FLSA and pay equity laws.
- A continuous learning and growth mindset.
- Self-motivation and working independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
- History of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business or clients while meeting deadlines.
